July 18, 20169 yr I followed the directions to shutdown the array Disconnect the drive I wanted to replace Connect the replacement drive then refresh gui assign new drive to cache pool start array format the drive Problem is now I have an empty cache pool all of my data is gone! I backed up my data so I was able to recreate my VM's and everything but I would like to know what I did wrong so if I do get a failed cache drive I can replace it without loosing my data.
July 18, 20169 yr To clarify, post the number of cache drives you used before, and the count you are using now. I do not want to misinterpret this, but the way you posted this it could as well be that you had a single cache drive, disconnected it, and replaced it with another drive - where "it" being empty would not be much of a surprise.
July 18, 20169 yr Community Expert Have you read through this thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=48508.0 There are several posts on version 6 cache drive problems and solutions.
April 24, 20233 yr Community Expert that link is dead, is there a proper way to replace a cache drive?
