July 19, 20169 yr Hey I couldn't find any info on the supermicro website, so I contacted their support and they said that my AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 would not work with 8TB drives. However, I'm pretty sure I've seen some signatures on here that included this card along with some 8TB's. Can anyone confirm for me that I can add 8TB drives to my array using this controller?
July 19, 20169 yr I have two on my AOC-SASLP-MV8 (notice the missing "2" in SASLP) and they work just fine. Can't comment on the "2", but I would certainly imagine the newer version handles it at least as well as the older version.

They just haven't tested any so they say they don't support them. If you look at supported drives you will probably find lots of drives that are NOT on the list and would get the same response for them.

November 27, 20205 yr To not open new thread, will AOC-SASLP-MV8 (not ver. "2") work with Seagate X18 18TB drives? I have 16 x 10TB connected to two of this controllers without issue. Is there anything different regarding drives past 10TB mark?
