hallifallen Posted July 19, 2016 Share Posted July 19, 2016 Hey I couldn't find any info on the supermicro website, so I contacted their support and they said that my AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 would not work with 8TB drives. However, I'm pretty sure I've seen some signatures on here that included this card along with some 8TB's. Can anyone confirm for me that I can add 8TB drives to my array using this controller? calvinandh0bbes Posted July 19, 2016 Share Posted July 19, 2016 I have two on my AOC-SASLP-MV8 (notice the missing "2" in SASLP) and they work just fine. Can't comment on the "2", but I would certainly imagine the newer version handles it at least as well as the older version. Quote Link to comment

They just haven't tested any so they say they don't support them. If you look at supported drives you will probably find lots of drives that are NOT on the list and would get the same response for them. Quote Link to comment
