January 8, 201016 yr OK, a little help is needed for the experts. I have just put together my first unRaid (version 4.5) box consisting of a Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 MB with a Athlon II X4 620 processor, 2GB ram and 3 hard drives. I'm having a problem getting the network connected and running. The network chipset is a RTL (Realtec?) 8111D (according to the MB manual). It seems that unRaid is using the R8169 driver for the network interface (Using interface eth0/6C:F0:49:14:17:CA with driver <r8169> (version: 2.3LK-NAPI). Everything seems to be working but it just won't grab an IP address. I have attached the syslog for someone's review. Thanks in advance. Doug
January 8, 201016 yr What do you have on your lan serving as the DHCP server? Are you using a router? Or are you connected using a switch? As you said, the network seems to be detected, a request is issued on the LAN for an IP address, but the server times out waiting. January 8, 201016 yr Author I have a Linksys WRT54G router (which the unRaid server is plugged directly into) and a Linksys 8 port EZXS88W switch which is also plugged into the router.
January 17, 201016 yr Author Update to the issue that I have. I dropped a 1Gbit PCI card in and everything works just fine. So either I have a bad connector on my MB or There's something new about the NIC on this MB that unRaid can't handle.
