So I got the pcie ssd passthrough done and I can install windows onto it. the issue I am running into is getting it to boot with ovmf bios. Does anyone know how to add a pcie ssd to the boot menu either via the BIOS or the xml?

My PCIe SSD is 05:00:0

The easiest way to passthrough your ssd disk is not to passthrough the controller but only the disk.

 

You should install the unassigned devices plugin. You should then see the device on the main page of the unraid gui.

I have a disk called

 

sdc   ST31000528AS_6VP41EPS

 

You take the disk id and pass that through for the disk location. You can edit the xml or just paste into the gui for the disk location.

 

mine above would be written like this

 

/dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000528AS_6VP41EPS
