January 9, 201016 yr I have a question... When I move data from the unraid server to another machine on the network, sopmetimes it transfers at 100MB/sec and other times it is very very slow. Can someone tell me why this happens?

Can someone tell me why this happens? You could re-phrase the same question as "When I drive to work, sometimes I can average 60 miles an hour, other times it is very slow. why?" Same answer to BOTH questions: It all depends on the other traffic. (on the road, or on the LAN) Joe L.
January 9, 201016 yr It's kind of like when users tell me "it's broken". I have to ask them to give me the where, when, how, etc. The point is, without details, none of us could venture a guess much less give you any kind of answer that would be helpful. Do you have other traffic on your network when it's slow? Are you pulling from different disks that have different speeds? Do you have mice in the walls eating your cables...?
