July 28, 20169 yr I've tried searching the forums for a thread that talks about a good way to backup to amazon cloud and it usually ends up in people using another backup service which I understand. I'm trying to use amazon cloud since I get it for free with amazon prime(which I'll have regardless of my backup solution). Is there a plugin or docker that will let me replicate certain shares/folders from my unraid server to amazon cloud and check periodicity to see if there is new data to copy over?
July 31, 20169 yr Author Bump? Is bumping allowed? Is there a better section to ask this question? I can't be the only one that wants to backup their data to amazon cloud and is also using Unraid/Dockers. i'd even settle with a linux based program I could run in a VM to do the work.
September 26, 20169 yr I'm also interested in the same solution (unraid -> amazon cloud drive). I'm frustrated with Crashplan.... Has anyone come up with a good solution for backing up to amazon cloud drive?
September 26, 20169 yr I tried Amazon... They have a weird policy where it concerns data.. Its not private so you would need to encrypt it before you send it.. boxcryptor can do that.. I found the whole Amazon thing so very slow its not really usable.. Same with crashplan.. I now have my own second server that I backup to USING crashplan... That works great..
September 26, 20169 yr Community Expert I now have my own second server that I backup to USING crashplan... That works great.. I hope it is off-site. (See my comment in this thread --- http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=52229.0 ---about dual parity. The same observation also holds true for backup servers.) I have three UBS hard drives that I use to backup the stuff that I can't ever replace. And two of them are always in a safety deposit box several miles from my home.
