August 2, 20169 yr I'm running a VM (Win 10) on an unraid server with only one NIC. I would like to connect via RDP. Username/pw is set. However the VM appears to be in a different network than all other machines on the netwerk and can not be found via machine name or IP. What am I missing there?
August 2, 20169 yr By default, VMs will be created on a private bridge (virbr0). If you'd like to bridge the VM to your actual network, first check if you have "Setup bridge" enabled in Settings -> Network Settings (you'll need to stop the array to make the change if it's not enabled). Once that's enabled and your array is running, stop your VM, edit it, and use the "Advanced View" option to find the "Network bridge" option - change this to br0, or whatever the bridge is named on your Network Settings page. If your VM client has DHCP enabled, it should now be grabbing an IP on your local network. You can change the default network bridge used for future VMs through Settings -> VM Manager.
August 2, 20169 yr Author Parity check is currenty in progress, so I'll wait till its complete before stopping the array. Thanks for the advice, i'll give feedback as soon as I've done it
