August 4, 20169 yr I can't speak for the OP but I was thinking more like "what happens to my array?" Nothing will happen to the data in your array. Worst case you may need to recreate the array, but no data loss.

You have to be careful what you do with the backup - if you make changes to the array in between backups it wouldn't be safe to simply restore the old files. It'd good information to have as a reference, though. I make backups of my USB stick just prior to and following any major change. The array has to be stopped, though, or super.dat might be empty and would not correctly reflect the array running/stopped status.
