Drive Failed and replacement crashes web interface

Featured Replies

Hey guys...i trying to replace a failed drive, with a new drive that is bigger than the current disks....this is causing me to do a parity-swap

1-parity-ok

2-data-ok

3-data-ok

4-data-ok

5-data-ok

6-data-failed

all are 1 TB

I go to repalce drive 6 with a 3 tb drive.....which forces me to do the parity copy and rebuild

it starts gets to 10 or 20% then the web interface stops working.....is there any way to restart the web interface or command line see the status of this to know its still working?

Try getting the diagnostics from console by typing    diagnostics

Drive 5 that is failed only has 40 gigs of data on it. Im thinking about installing the new drive and doing a new config and letting it rebuild parity from scratch instead of doing the parity swap that keeps failing. Then just restore the 40 gigs of data....thoughts?

Also went and checked the server it was hard locked. Had to pull the power to get it to restart.

You can try to copy all data from the emulated disk5 to other disk before doing a new config, if that fails it could also be possible to copy data from the bad physical disk.
