Nvidia GT 730 Passthrough & Not Detecting TrueHD from AVR

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

Have a strange one here.... I've passed through an Nvidia GT 730 to a Windows 7 Pro VM. The GT 730 is connected to a Marantz 7702 processor with a HDMI cable.

When I open audio Playback Devices in the VM, the Marantz is detected but the VM thinks its only able to play DTS, DTS-MA & DD audio formats as per the image below.

I've use this same card on a physical machine and all audio formats worked including TrueHD.

Any ideas?

For "Controller Information" mine is showing a Microsoft audio device and I'm not sure is that correct. Should it be Nvidia maybe?

Yes I did but I might try reinstalling and see what happens.

Here you go

Here's also a shot of the General tab. Should I have some sort of Nvidia controller there instead of the Microsoft one?

And here are my playback devices. Notice the Marantz is just using the High Definition Audio Device rather than the Nvidia one (which I suspect it should be using)

Can you double click the High Definition Audio Device and choose the Driver tab?

Also do the same for the display adapter.

Here's the audio driver. I tried updating that but was told I had the latest version

It doesn't look like you have downloaded the drivers from Nvidia, but instead used windows update to install drivers.

Try the drivers downloaded from Nvidia and see how that goes.

Reinstalling the Nvidia drivers with the Marantz connected and switched on seems to have sorted it. Thanks for your help!
