key file from v5

Featured Replies

I already formatted my disk, but copied a backup so I could upgrade to v6.  i cannot find where my key file is on v5. Anyone able to help?

Thanks

Either in the root of the flash drive, or in the config folder.

Put it in the config folder for v6

Don't see it on either drives unless it is called something else?  Included pics of both of those folders from my backup

I bought a license and have been running for the last 4 or so years

Was there a free version of 5 that you could run that long? I thought I remembered sending my USB serial though but it was a long time ago. So don't remember exactly

The free version of v5 never expires.  With v6 there's no longer a free version; just a trial which (as you know) expires.

How many disks did your v5 server have?    If not more than 3, you were most likely just running the free version and didn't have a key.

If you DID buy a key, it will be a file named Plus.key or Pro.key  and should have been in the Config folder.  Hopefully you didn't format the flash drive without a backup of that file.    Limetech has very good records of their key purchases => if you know the e-mail address you used when purchasing it, they'll be able to confirm your purchase and send you another copy of the key.
