unRAID 4.5 as syslog server?

Anyone used unRAID v4.5 as a syslog server? Writing to the USB stick and keeping all data disk spun down if they aren't up and running?! Any hints as to this? Thanks in advance!

    I do ... I have the syslogs from my WRT routers pointer to unRAID on thecache drive.... but I have a ful Slackware install, and the cache drive is one partition on the same drive as the root fs, swap, and /tmp.

    I did also, had it on a Gigabyte I-RAM drive and would rsync it to compact flash every hour or so.

    I plan to move to SSD on a PCI Slot Rafter.
