August 14, 20169 yr hi today my parity disk is "gone" well its there in the bios and when i take the array online and remove it as the parity it show up But i can't mount it, what now? shall i just do a reformat ? i thinks its a bug from my old hotswap system that created this error
August 14, 20169 yr This sounds similar to the problem noted here -- which Limetech has acknowledged is a problem and will be fixed in the next release: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=50635.msg489905#msg489905 It'd be interesting to know what the circumstances are that caused this -- it's clearly not a common issue, or there'd be a LOT of "screaming" about the current RC. But this is now 2 cases where parity has simply "disappeared" -- NOT how we want UnRAID to behave !! Hopefully RC4 will be out fairly soon and have the fix for this.
August 14, 20169 yr Author solved it be removing disk from the array, started the array, stopped it, put the disk back in now its rebuilding
August 14, 20169 yr Hopefully it won't happen again ... whatever's causing it is apparently something Tom knows about and the next release will have it resolved, so it shouldn't repeat in the future.
August 14, 20169 yr The issue fixed for next release is that you'll get a warning and/or maybe the array won't auto start with missing parity(s), at the moment v6.2 doesn't give any warning and array starts normally, the OP issue seems to be different, I believe his parity dropped offline and he was having trouble doing a new sync.
