Hi Experts,

 

has someone maybe tested an 8TB-HDD on an old Adaptec 1430SA?

I like to know, if this is working without problems.

I am using the latest BIOS v6.0.0 Build 2507 but i have no HDD with this size to test  ;)

    Works fine.  Haven't tried it with a 10TB, but have used it with an 8TB Red.

     

    ... no reason it shouldn't work with the 10TB units, however => basically, any controller that works with drives > 2TB should work with ANY size that'll be available in at least the next few years.

    Hi garycase, hi John_M - thanks a lot for your infos.

    I wanted to make sure its working because the Firmware of the Adaptec-Controller is really old.

    So i can go with the 8TB-Red's and dont change the controller - good news  ;)
