August 14, 20169 yr When I look for the mounted remote SMB in Plex under the /mnt directory, as mounted there by Unassigned Devices, the folder seems empty. Through FTP I can see/access the folder just fine, so why can't Plex? Any one tried this before?
August 14, 20169 yr Do it all the time. If the folder is empty, then presumably you're running 6.1.9 In that case, everytime you add or make a change to a UD path, then you have to restart the entire docker service (Settings - Docker) for it to populate that path. Under 6.2, when adding the path, you can set the mode of the path to be one of the "slave" modes to avoid this problem.
August 14, 20169 yr Author Cool, I am using the 6.2 RC 3. In plex the /mnt folder seems empty: (Then again, neither do cache, disk1, disk2, disks, user or user0...) However in FileZilla (or SSH using the ls command) the SMB Share is mounted to a folder under /mnt: I only restarted the Plex docker it self before. How do I restart the whole Docker service?
August 14, 20169 yr Restarting should work, but also edit the path and change it from RW to be RW:Slave
August 14, 20169 yr Author I seem unfamiliar with the reboot procedure of Docker, how is this preformed? And since the script file created for the SMB Share mount is empty (both in the WebUI and via SSH (nano)), how do I change the path and it's permissions?
August 14, 20169 yr Settings - docker - stop and then start AFAIK you can't change the mount path (I've tried and never quite figured out how to) UD scripts are for when the device gets mounted / unmounted.
August 14, 20169 yr Author @Docker, oh how silly of me... Thanks. I restarted Docker, the issue of Plex not being able to see/going to the directory still seems present, too bad. @Path, you said something about the path and edit the Read Write permission. Restarting should work, but also edit the path and change it from RW to be RW:Slave Sorry for the confusion, but what was all that about? haha
August 14, 20169 yr Also, its a little unclear as to where your paths is actually mounted. From your Plex screen shot, I would guess that your container volume is /unraid, not /mnt and that's where you would look for everything...
August 14, 20169 yr Author @Path, I am sorry for asking such a silly question again, but, where can I access the "Edit Configuration" you show me. Also, you're right, I already thought it was out of place.. But this is, regardless, what is shown to Plex under the /unraid directory:
August 14, 20169 yr So edit the container and add another path /mnt/disks/whatever mapped to /whatever and set the mode to be RW:Slave /unRaid in your container (edit the container, possibly show advanced settings) is mapped to /mnt/user and will not show anything in /mnt/disks
August 14, 20169 yr Author D'oh! Good lord, thanks! I never looked into the Docker's advanced settings. It works great now, such a little setting, such a big impact. Thanks again man.
