January 19, 201016 yr Hello I'm search a motheboard atx true hardware raid inside if possible with the Socket LGA 1366. the ICH10R Chipset is fake raid or true hardware raid ?
January 19, 201016 yr What raid level? There are a few motherboards with the steelvine chipset which support RAID1 & RAID0 for two drives (that is it). You may find some boards with embedded promise controllers, however I have not seen them around in quite some time and unRAID does not support the embedded RAID natively. With the steelvine processors, RAID1/RAID0 will work, but you cannot spin the drives down or get SMART data from the drives beyond the raid volume. Take a look at the ASUS PQ5, but also do a search on the board regarding it's performance. I think someone tried it out with mixed results.
January 19, 201016 yr A motherboard based Steelvine processor or an external eSATA unit with the steelvine processor will work in RAID1 or RAID0.
