RAM for Supermicro X11SSM-F LGA 1151

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just wanted to get some advice.

Just realized I purchase the wrong RAM(Registered instead of Unregistered) for my mobo(Supermicro X11SSM-F) so want to make sure I don't make the same mistake again...

I messed up and bought these which are registered: http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/?partid=kvr21r15s4k4/32

Hopefully I can return it...

I was looking at getting these to replace them:

Your best bet is to always buy from SuperMicro's "Tested Memory List". It is linked from every motherboards page on their site.

For 8GB modules, either Hynix HMA41GU7AFR8N-TF or Samsung M391A1G43DB0-CPB are guaranteed to work.

For 16GB modules, either Hynix HMA82GU7MFR8N-TF or Samsung M391A2K43BB1-CPB are guaranteed to work.

Thanks for the quick reply Steven,

Yeah I saw those lists today when I was troubleshooting, but noticed they are all 1 stick kits, and aren't as easily accessible to me. I guess buying 2 of the single 16GB sticks wouldn't be too bad, but I heard it's better to buy them in a dual kit since they would have been tested together.
