August 29, 20169 yr Making sure I have things configured properly. I have all 7200rpm Sata 3 drives connected to the onboard LSI Sata 3 connectors. I have an SSD Cache drive on Sata 3 and my parity drive on a separate onboard Sata 3. 2 nics are bonded with 1Gbit each in an adaptive load balancing config, (MTU 1500). Currently my transfer speeds when copying files from my main system to the unRAID system is between 40-60MB/s. Should this be faster with this config? Anyone have suggestion for a different config or a discussion I can read here on the forums? Thanks all. Really having fun with this!
August 29, 20169 yr That's about what I get writing to a non-cached user share where my active data and parity drive are WD Red 6TB drives. Are you writing to the cache drive or directly to the parity protected array? Write speeds also vary a lot depending on whether you are writing lots of small files (slow) or larger files (faster) as I'm sure you've found. Writing to my 3TB drives is a bit slower. Network throughput would only be a gating factor when writing to the SSD.

Funny you should mention that...in all the configuring and such, I totally forgot about the cache activation.. lol Speeds are more around 100mbps now that I activated the SSD cache... derp!
