August 30, 20169 yr I bought a SuperMicro 846E16-R1200B which has SAS2 backplane (BPN-SAS2-846EL1). I currently have an AOC-SASLP-MV8. I Currently use > 2TB drives with it. Do I need to buy a SAS2 HBA in order to use > 2TB drives in the new case? i see that a lot of people are using the 9211-8i which is a SAS card so was wondering if i could save a few dollars and use my existing HBA edited for clarity
