When shutting down I get "mount: can't find in /etc/fstab or /etc/mstab"

Featured Replies

Title says it all. I try to shutdown or reboot and the system end up hanging with that as the last line. What is causing this and how can I remedy it?

It is perfectly normal to get a message like that when shutting down any Linux based system near the end of the shutdown process.  Why it should appear to be hanging at that point on your system I have no idea.

it gets to that point and will not power down or reboot.  just sits there.......for hours if i let it.

Any chance you have a boot option that turns off ACPI?
