Replacement disk, lists as "Wrong" - What to do?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just replaced a WD 3 TB, with a Seagate 8TB (got an identical as parity drive).

I followed the wiki: https://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Replacing_a_Data_Drive

When trying to assign the new drive ind the old slot, it says "Wrong"  :( (see attached screenshot)

The drive is pre-cleared with 3 cycles, and with success.

Can you please help?

Thanks in advance.

Stop the array, set that disk to be not installed, start the array, stop the array, then set the disk to be the new one.  Start the array and a rebuild will commence.

Or just start the array and rebuild will begin.

Yes. Since the screenshot doesn't include the "Array Operation" section I suspect it says just that.

Ahh, so this is normal, that it writes "Wrong", when assigning the new replacement drive?

I have attached a screenshot of the bottom of the page. So all is normal, and I just click start the array?
