issues with parity

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

yesterday, I built my new home server. As it is my first one, I decided to put only one disk (2tb) into it. That´s why I don´t have a parity device.

My problem is, that my shares aren´t accepted! It says "some or all files are protected"!

Is there any way, to use unraid with one drive? Do you know if that´s the fault?

It probably says "unprotected" doesn't it? Why do you say the shares "aren't accepted"? Post a screenshot.

The "unprotected" thing is perfectly normal (and correct) since you don't have a parity drive, therefore there is no protection should your data drives fail.

Still not sure what you mean by shares not accepted however

If I go to my computer, the shares aren´t shown in the network tab! I thought the unprotected "notice" would be the issue, but as you say, I made a different fault! How can I acces these shares?

Alright guys, just solved the problem! I couldn´t log into the share, because the root user wasn´t allowed to do that.. Don´t ask me why! But now it works :D Thank you for all your support!
