New cheap interesting 4U 13HDD rack design

Featured Replies

Cool!

My only question would be how effectively the hot air is exhausted from the rear assuming the front fans are designed to draw cool air in.

It looks like there's only a single 80mm fan in the rear?  I would have expected two at least...

Then again it sort of looks like there's maybe a space for another fan in the rear, hard to tell from the picture.

Yeah there are alot of unanswered questions but it has some real potential.

Using a mATX motherboard essentially there would be nothing between the back of the HDD array and the rear fan (apart from 13 sata + power cables).

Its not all that bad looking either.

Xcase quite often stick up a video of their cases going through layouts etc.

From the pictures it looks to me like there are 3x80mm fans at the front of the case just before the HDs, guess the space for the 4th is taken by the LCD.

I think your right.

The website if sull of typos but:

Fans

8025*4

6iMAXj

Implies 4 are fitted and 2 more are posible which matches having a space at the back and the front which looks correct

Pretty good price. My Only concern would be cooling but otherwise it looks very tidy.

Can someone find a price for this outside the EU. The Norco 4220 has shot up in price in the EU and now comes in at more than 3 times the price of this one. Its no longer viable even though it support more drives.

I suspect outside the EU this case is very very cheap indeed.

At this point it is almost certain i will be purchasing one.
