January 23, 201016 yr Hi, I'm using 4.5 pro. When test copying a large 88GB binary file (created with Norton Ghost 15) to an UNRAID 'user-share' the speed I see is ~27.2 MB/second prior to adding the cache drive into the system. After adding the cache drive into the system and enabling the feature for my shares and rebooting, the same copy gave me a final speed of ~29.2 MB/second. Is this what I should except to see in terms of speed increase? (only 2 MB/second faster?) I was thinking maybe because of the type and size of file I was testing with that maybe that had something to do with it? I would have expected larger per second numbers after the cache drive was installed as the forums' posts indicate a substantial increase in throughput after adding a cache drive. WHEN I COPY DIRECTLY TO THE CACHE DRIVE FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY THE SPEED IS WAY HIGHER - closer to ~40mb/second. Weird? My log is attached. Many thanks! Reuben syslog.txt

Reuben It sounds as if you did not enable the cache drive on the user-share, and therefore, it was not used.
January 24, 201016 yr Author I did, I think, the screen shot is attached. Is there another place to enable it? But wait a second, I know it was enabled because I saw the file being created on the cache drive via the 'cache' share. Thanks, Reuben
