Need a new Sync Solution

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I run two unRAID servers, a main one and a backup one.  For the past year or so I have been using BTSync to keep the two in sync.  Unfortunately though I have noticed that for 20 days in August all files that were sync'd between the two machines have become corrupted on both machines.  This has cause loss of data which is exactly what I was trying to avoid by having two servers in the first place.

Instead of figuring out why (though I think I know it but can't prove it) I am looking to switch to another way of keeping the servers in Sync.

I have read on the forums that rsync is a good tool to use but have no knowledge in the tool.  I am happy to learn it but was wondering if there was a tutorial for unRAID server syncing for it or some post with instructions.  Any help would be appreciated as I know a lot of users have this setup already.

Alternatively I have heard some users have had success with SyncBack but again have no knowledge in that tool either so any tutorial on that would also be great.

I would love to see a native function built in to the unRAID but I bet that is asking too much at the moment.

Does anyone have any other ideas or thoughts?

Thanks!
