Disk unmountable after parity disk upgrade.

Featured Replies

In the past few days I have upgraded my parity disk from a 3TB drive to a 4TB. I then took that 3TB old drive which was perfectly fine and upgraded a 2TB data drive.

Since then I have had nothing but problems. Disk 3 in my array which I have not changed at keeps showing up as unmountable.

It says that I have no file system. I have green balls on all drives and both of the replaced drives rebuilt without any issues in the past 24 hours. I have tried hitting the format, figuring worst cause scenario the drive would just rebuild but the format button doesn't seem to do anything for me.

Also Docker no longer shows up in my GUI and none of my shares either.

Any ideas?

I am at my wits end and afraid of losing 16TBs of data.

I hope format didn't do anything. Format means "write an empty filesystem to this disk". That is what it has always meant in every operating system you have ever used. Format is never part of a rebuild.

Post a screenshot and diagnostics.

It said to format all unmountable disks, since it was only one unmountable I didnt think this would cause an issue. Ugh....Now I am afraid I screwed this up beyond repair.

SMART for all disks looks OK.

Syslog indicates filesystem issues on both disk2 and disk3. Looks like they are both supposed to be ReiserFS.
