Replace a drive in array while a VM is paused

Hi!

 

I am currently runnig a data recovery tool on my Win10 VM for my 3TB hdd and dumping data to the array, but as it is one drive short, array will not tolerate any other malfunction, so I wonder if it is possible to pause my VM, stop the array, add a new drive and resume the VM?
