First Installation - Can't connect to localhost

Featured Replies

I successfully built my first unRAID box yesterday.  Apart from a DOA motherboard, everything in the build went smoothly and system powered up first time.

I got over my annoyance that the keyboard is setup with the '@' over the 2 key not in the UK position over the apostrophe (can this be changed?)

But, I ran into problems connecting to localhost.  The connection keeps dropping which is annoying as it means I have not managed to complete pre-clearing my two trial drives.  I can open extra tabs in firefox and browse the internet, but it won't let me connect to localhost or connect remotely to the server.

Rebooting modem, powering down PC and rebooting powerline adapter (I'm having to use powerline as server not in a wired room - I'm getting a TP-link c8 router to use a bridge today.  On my PC in the same room I successfully use a 802.11ac adapter so the speed will be fine) in I'm not sure what order seems to restore the connection sometimes, but then it just drops again.

Any ideas what's wrong?  Thanks

Update:  I tried a direct connection and had the same problem.  I've formatted my USB and starting again from scratch (again) to see if it helps and I'm not touching the network settings to see if that helps - previously I'd turned off bonding as I only have one network connection.

From the command prompt (I don't use GUI mode, so not sure how to get there from that mode, but you can always reboot and select the non gui mode) login and type diagnostics and then post the resulting zip file (stored on the flashdrive, logs folder) here

It's been running for 3 hours so far without freezing up, so I'm hopeful all is ok now - preclear is over 20% for a 5TB and 4TB drive at the same time, which looks promising in terms of performance.

Diagnostics attached anyway - thanks for having a look and let me know if you spot anything.

I managed to pre-clear one disk before I stupidly pulled the power cable (got too excited...)

I created a new share 'Media' and was transferring files at the same time as pre-clearing my 2nd trial drive, when I had a system freeze.  I hope something is in the new logs to explain
