300 Errors on Rebuild

Featured Replies

This is the popup i got.  "unRAID Data rebuild:: 15-09-2016 06:02

Notice [TOWER] - Data rebuild: finished (300 errors)

Duration: unavailable (no parity-check entries logged)"

Where can i find what files the errors happened with? Or what the errors were?

I am attaching the syslog in this post (cleaned of email address and files moved by mover) - diagnostics to follow in next post.

Well it appears i didn't need to post syslog as its included in diagnostics as far as i can see. - Here is the diagnostics.

The history of this is that yesterday i had a 4tb drive possibly fail, I have my doubts as to whether it actually failed and will preclear it to make sure.  I think its possible the the backplane multiplier had a problem that went away after a reboot followed by a powerdown and reboot.  At that point the drive was marked faulty and i opted to use the 6tb hot spare for rebuild before i preclear.  Didn't see any smart errors on the 4tb.  300 errors on rebuild is alarming and i am wondering what is going on as i can't find the info as to the errors.

Thanks for your help.

This is a bug, errors are usually from a previous parity check, if a rebuild is done after a parity check with errors the same number of errors is reported on the rebuild, if you replaced another disk before doing a parity check you'd get the same 300 errors.
