September 19, 20169 yr Good morning all! As VR slowly creeps into our lives and forces it's amazing reality upon our hardware, we need to be able to use it in unRAID. So far I have been unsuccessful getting unRAID to detect the Oculus Rift Sensor in Win 10. It doesn't even show up as a device in Device Manager in the VM. I find that very odd. Anyone have a solution to this problem? It looks like everything else on the list works with absolutely no problem. Let me know! Thank you all! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
September 19, 20169 yr I assume it is USB thing? Enter the console (telnet or SSH) and type lsusb . Copy the output here for us to read.
September 19, 20169 yr So you DO check the device in the VM settings or not? Did you uncheck them to make a screenshot?
September 19, 20169 yr Author I check them when I am running the VM. I just pulled one of my other VMs up so I could take the picture. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
September 22, 20169 yr Hey I dont have the Rift (htc vive here) When I was passing through the USB functions from the headset some things would work and some wouldnt. Seems like there were like 13 usb devices showing up in that single usb port making it quite difficult to get to work. The only way I was able to get my vr to work properly was to get a PCI-E card with USB ports. I had to pass through the whole card to the VM then having the headset gear plugged into that card to get it to work properly. Definitely was a difficult process to get set up, but it is possible! (for vive at least, I assume the rift works similarly)
September 22, 20169 yr Right now, the best and most reliable way to get these VR headsets working in a VM is to pass through an entire USB controller to that VM.
September 22, 20169 yr Author Thank you guys for the advice! I will get me a USB PCI-E card to make it easier on me! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
