question about SAS drives and spin down

I bought a replacement drive for a drive that went bad. I didn't realize it was a SAS drive. Now I have a drive that won't spin down.

 

I am not sure what it is plugged into. I don't have easy access to the server so downing DIAG hoping it will tell me.

 

I have 2 Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 cards as well as 8 ports on my motherboard.

 

Is there a chance it is plugged into my motherboard and if I switch it out with something plugged into my Supermicro board it should spin down?
