6.2 Upgrade questions

Featured Replies

Good Evening,

I just completed the upgrade to 6.2 on one of my two servers. On my main server it has two NICs build in. One NIC is Intel and the other is Realtek. Prior to the upgrade I only plugged in the Intel NIC. This worked fine and speeds were great.Since the upgrade the only way to make it work is to plug in both NICs or just the Realtek. It appears it sees the Realtek first. I do not see a setting in the bios to turn off one or the other NIC only both on or both off. In my experience most Realtek NICs are slower and less reliable. With both NICs pluged in and writing to the cache drive my speeds are still great. Now using both NICs my transfers from the server starts fast but then quickly fluctuates drastically from 113 down to 50 to 20 then back to the mid 60s never touching the top end again. Is there a way to get this system solid again.

Thanks

On the bottom of the network settings you can choose which NIC is eth0, currently it's the realtek, swap them, click apply and reboot.
