unable to get webgui to start

Featured Replies

I installed unraid. Everything appears to be fine. I can load to the built in GUI, I can surf the web from it and it sees my disks but I am not able to open the webgui from localhost or a remote host. Hopefully someone can give me some advice. I am attaching the diagnostics zip.

P.S. The forum verification phrase does not appear to change no matter how many times you type in tower, side, side of the moon, net, web, matter, energy, penguin overlord etc...

Looks like a problem with your flash drive or the install, since most of the config folder is missing and the syslog is reporting flash issues also. Are you sure you did the install correctly? Try a different USB port (preferably USB2) and if that doesn't work try reformatting the flash and doing the install again.

This is a USB 2 thumb drive. It's a pretty simple process, download the zip, extract it to the USB device, run the bat file as admin. What is supposed to be in the config folder? I just downloaded the unraid installer again and used a different USB drive but I only see 5 files in there plus the plugins folder.

Is it plugged into a USB2 or a USB3 port?  There have been several instances lately where there have been problems when the unRAID Flash Drive is plugged into a USB3 port.

Oh, and as I recall, several of the files in the config directory are written there on the first boot of the system.

Your diagnostics only had one file in config, and no go file at all. Maybe if you look on the flash in your PC you can see the missing files, but unRAID is not seeing them because it is having a problem reading it.

Your description of setting up the flash is missing some critical details. Must be formatted FAT32, must have volume name UNRAID.

That drove me nuts earlier today when I created a joke user.  Kept on asking me "The Dark ?" and it wouldn't accept "Crystal" as an answer.  Had to google the to get the answer it wanted.  lol And I watch movies lol

Been so long since I did this I don't remember what it did back then. I bet I probably would flunk now. Most of my movie collection is pre-1990.
