September 27, 20169 yr So I am experiencing very slow file copy performance between my unRAID server and my iMac. I experienced this once before when I went from RC3 to RC5, I ended up going back to RC3 and it went away. I later updated to RC5 and then immediately to final release and all has been fine since then. Yesterday, for whatever reason, I noticed media files I was playing from a share on the unRAID server were stuttering and I tried to copy a file that should of only taken less than a minute, it said it was going to take over an hour so I knew something was up. I rebooted my Mac, then I rebooted the unRAID server, no change. Right now I am trying to copy a 2.32GB file that should only take maybe 45 seconds and its saying 31 minutes. Nothing has changed from a networking perspective, everything was working fine until some point yesterday. I can post diags but I doubt anyone would see anything. I can't live with this kind of performance, I copy too much data to this server on a regular basis. Any suggestions?

I am using a dell 16 port gigabit switch in unmanaged mode. Not as unusual as you might expect. Those things all contain a microprocessor and run some form of Linux. Apparently, they occasionally have issues just like any other computer system with garbage accumulating that only a reboot will fix! I have had to reboot modems, routers, and switches to fix connectivity issues many times over over the past 20 years.
