February 4, 201016 yr Hello, I have all 15 bays fill in my MD-1510/LL and was thinking about adding some more drives externally. I have upgraded my system to allow for 20 drives, but I am at a loss as to which drive enclosures to look at and if I need to add controller cards which would be compatible. Any advice? John
February 5, 201016 yr One of the possibilities that I have not seen posted, is getting the same exact case as your first model. Then use a 5in3, power supply and a 1x5 port multiplier in the new case. This gives you "the possibility" of upgrading to another 15 drives if/when unRAID supports it. Interested? Or do you just want a small chassis for another 5/10 drives?
February 6, 201016 yr Author i was looking at a suitable 5 in 3 enternal unit with a compatible interface card, maybe eSATA, but not sure what is compatible. Lots of ideas here in the Forums but nothing definate and I do not want to spend the money unless I know it will work.
