February 4, 201016 yr Folks, I checked the log and saw these errors from yesterday. I had a couple of playback problems yesterday but it was with a specific video and I thought it was just WMP as when I switched to VLC it worked fine. This is on a Lime Technology MD1510/LL. Is this something that I need to be concerned about? I found a thread that said it could be the power supply but its a new system and I have "only" 5 drives in there. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=4666.0 Feb 3 20:22:32 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen Feb 3 20:22:32 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: cmd ec/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 tag 0 pio 512 in Feb 3 20:22:32 Serenity kernel: res 40/00:ff:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x4 (timeout) Feb 3 20:22:32 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: status: { DRDY } Feb 3 20:22:32 Serenity kernel: ata13: hard resetting link Feb 3 20:22:32 Serenity kernel: ata13: SATA link up 3.0 Gbps (SStatus 123 SControl 300) Feb 3 20:22:32 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: configured for UDMA/133 Feb 3 20:22:32 Serenity kernel: ata13: EH complete Feb 3 20:24:33 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen Feb 3 20:24:33 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: cmd e5/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 tag 0 Feb 3 20:24:33 Serenity kernel: res 40/00:ff:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x4 (timeout) Feb 3 20:24:33 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: status: { DRDY } Feb 3 20:24:33 Serenity kernel: ata13: hard resetting link Feb 3 20:24:33 Serenity kernel: ata13: SATA link up 3.0 Gbps (SStatus 123 SControl 300) Feb 3 20:24:33 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: configured for UDMA/133 Feb 3 20:24:33 Serenity kernel: ata13: EH complete Feb 3 21:07:37 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen Feb 3 21:07:37 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: cmd e5/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 tag 0 Feb 3 21:07:37 Serenity kernel: res 40/00:ff:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x4 (timeout) Feb 3 21:07:37 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: status: { DRDY } Feb 3 21:07:37 Serenity kernel: ata13: hard resetting link Feb 3 21:07:37 Serenity kernel: ata13: SATA link up 3.0 Gbps (SStatus 123 SControl 300) Feb 3 21:07:38 Serenity kernel: ata13.00: configured for UDMA/133 Feb 3 21:07:38 Serenity kernel: ata13: EH complete
February 5, 201016 yr I found a thread that said it could be the power supply This could also be a bad sata cable or bad connector. Can you connect the disk with a different cable? And maybe also move it to a different sata port?
February 6, 201016 yr Author I found a thread that said it could be the power supply This could also be a bad sata cable or bad connector. Can you connect the disk with a different cable? And maybe also move it to a different sata port? I won't get a chance to do that for a few days, but here's where buying a prebuilt system might be my downfall . I don't know which cable actually goes where without tracing it. I sent an email to Tom @ Lime-Tech as well since he built it. That said....I don't see any other problems when copying to/from the drive using TeraCopy and verifying CRC, etc.
