October 6, 20169 yr Ok, so I upgraded to the latest unRAID 6.2 NOW my /mnt/cache/custom is being moved by mover! I had it setup where it would ignore this folder along with /mnt/cache/tmp, now both show PLUS a 3rd one /mnt/cache/system and all 3 are being moved! What's up with this?
October 6, 20169 yr Author SON OF A F(@*#$^T)(@#! I deleted the /mnt/user/custom that was moved from /mnt/cache/custom and now I lost all my settings! LIME TECH WTF!?!?
October 6, 20169 yr That's kind of expected. /mnt/user/SHARE encompasses all the disks in the array. /mnt/disk$/SHARE + /mnt/cache/SHARE (where $ = drive number) /mnt/user0/SHARE is all the disks EXCEPT cache.
October 6, 20169 yr Community Expert SON OF A F(@*#$^T)(@#! I deleted the /mnt/user/custom that was moved from /mnt/cache/custom and now I lost all my settings! LIME TECH WTF!?!? /mnt/cache/custom is part of the 'custom' user share and thus will also appear at /mnt/user/custom. Deleting 'mint/user/custom will therefore delete the files regardless of whether they are on the cache drive or the array drives. You did not mention what you did to try and stop mover moving the files to the array. The correct way to do this is to set the share as Cache Only.

This explains the "system" folder (and it CANT be changed) WTH??? VM Manager: Libvirt storage location: /mnt/user/system/libvirt/libvirt.img domains was in Docker settings, but I changed it to /mnt/cache/custom/domains tmp was in a docker and I moved it to /mnt/cache/custom/tmp I'M PISSED... everything good I had to say about unRAID is GONE! Jesus Christ....
October 6, 20169 yr Community Expert If you want any help then you should provide the system diagnostics so that we can see how things are set up. Without those we are just guessing at what might have happened.

If you can telnet/ssh/console, type diagnostics and get the diagnostics zip from your flash drive and post it.
October 6, 20169 yr Since when?Since Day #1 on v5 with the introduction of the cache drive Was my samba config file deleted when I upgraded or something? Were you modifying smb.conf (in /etc/samba or smb-extra.conf (on the flashdrive)? If the former, then any reboot will wind up restoring unRaid's factory settings. But the net result is that any top level folder within /mnt/cache (or any disk) is always and has always been considered a share and appears within /mnt/user. Whether you see it over the network or not is set by the individual share's SMB export settings on the shares tab And I can't do anything, my unRAID is FROZEN. If you can, ssh in to the server and type in diagnostics And then upload the resulting file (stored on the flash drive in /logs) here. Without the diagnostics, we can only guess at what is going on....
October 6, 20169 yr Am I the only one left a bit confused? I guess it was just a vent of frustration rather than a request for help/advice...
October 6, 20169 yr Ok, so I upgraded to the latest unRAID 6.2 If you were on 6.1.9 it should have upgraded to 6.2.1, did that not happen? NOW my /mnt/cache/custom is being moved by mover! I had it setup where it would ignore this folder along with /mnt/cache/tmp, now both show PLUS a 3rd one /mnt/cache/system and all 3 are being moved! What's up with this? How did you "set it up" to ingore this folder?
