October 6, 20169 yr I have two drives in my array that might be parity-the two biggest drives. The other has data on it. Is there any way to tell which drive was parity? The whole server had to be rebuilt because of a motherboard failure. I assume one of the two largest drives was parity but I don't know the order of the drives in the original server. Thanks, Joe M.
October 6, 20169 yr Community Expert The normal way is to find out is to do a New Config and assign both drives as data drives. When you start the array then the parity drive should be the only one that shows as unmountable. You can now make a note of the serial numbers, do a New Config and this time assign the drives correctly.

October 6, 20169 yr Author Thanks. I know which disk is parity now. How do I do a new config? Do I have to reload Unraid onto my flash drive?
October 6, 20169 yr Author Forget it, I found it. Tools>new config. I started array and I think parity is being synced. Does it matter if the data disks are out of order?

Does it matter if the data disks are out of order? if you have single parity then the order of the data disks is not important. Once you have dual parity then the order does matter. It would be a good idea to take a screenshot of the current assignments (and do this whenever you change it).
