Thanks for your reply, I read that before posting but I am a newie and don't have a clue how to:

If networking is not working (and you have unRAID v6.0-rc4 or later), then if you can login at the console command prompt, you can type diagnostics, and you will get the same diagnostics.zip file in the /boot/logs folder.  You can then shut down with powerdown and take the flash drive to another computer.

Thanks

Attach keyboard and monitor. That will let you see if it is actually booting. Then you can login to the console with user root, no password unless you have set one. Then type

diagnostics

Thanks for your reply, I'll try to find a cable or converter that can go from VGA to HDMI.

Probably cheaper and easier to get a used monitor from a thrift shop.

Meh. I've purchased one from China and it was 20 bucks. Has been working for three years now.

@OP: Since you have a Supermicro board check if your problem is similar to ours.

Depends on how fast you want to get the problem resolved. Depending on where you are in the world, finding a VGA to HDMI converter locally could be challenging. Used VGA monitors seem to be practically anywhere, and almost free.

I am in Venezuela and my best bet is to find a monitor either way I am ordering an adapter from the US.

Looks like maybe you got a bad download. Try downloading it from the Limetech website again and copy bzroot, bzimage from the zip file onto your flash.

  • Author

Thanks for your reply, can you show me how to do that please, I mean the copy part.

Not sure this 3 sentence instruction is any better than the 1 sentence instruction from my previous post. What part don't you understand?

1)Put your unRAID flash drive into your PC. Probably be a good idea to let it checkdisk.

2)Download unRAID from the limetech website. Open the downloaded zip file.

3)Copy the bzroot and bzimage files in the zip file to the unRAID flash drive, replacing those files.

I didn't explained myself right, I was trying to find out how to copy those images without having to take the flash drive to the PC because the server is in a rack and the flash drive is inside, it's a pain to get the flash drive from inside.

If you could get it to boot then you could do it over the network, but since you can't...
