Built a storage only low powered solution for a friend of mine.

Looks good! Did you do any read/write speed testing with that low powered Atom?

 

There wasn't any slowdowns in drive performance that I could perceive. I've used that same board in another build that runs Windows 10 - it's not zippy but it's not like watching a 300 baud modem either.
