6.1.9 upgrade to 6.2.1 : HighPoint Rocket 620 stop working

Recommended Posts

I use HighPoint Rocket 620 for 2 hard drive in my array (other ones are connected to the onboard LSI controller), and when I try tu update from version 6.1.9 to 6.2.1, this 2 hard drives are missing from my array.

I can see the following errors in the log (repeatedly) :

Oct 16 20:59:30 Stockage kernel: ata10.00: qc timeout (cmd 0xec)
Oct 16 20:59:30 Stockage kernel: ata9.00: qc timeout (cmd 0xec)
Oct 16 20:59:30 Stockage kernel: ata10.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4)
Oct 16 20:59:30 Stockage kernel: ata10: limiting SATA link speed to 3.0 Gbps
Oct 16 20:59:30 Stockage kernel: ata9.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4)
Oct 16 20:59:30 Stockage kernel: ata9: limiting SATA link speed to 3.0 Gbps
Oct 16 20:59:30 Stockage kernel: ata10: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 320)
Oct 16 20:59:30 Stockage kernel: ata9: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 320)

When I rollback to 6.1.9, everything works without problem again.

Any idea about this problem ??

The workaround with ths syslinux.cnf modification (append  iommu=pt  initrd=/bzroot) did not work, but disabling the "VT-d" option in the Bios did it !

I hope this bug is resolved soon since I intend to use a GPU in one of my VMs ... (and without VT-d, I can forget that idea).

I would like to have VT-d enabled... is there any way to properly fix the cards so my drives work?  (I am running 3 because they are left over from another system... I dont want to buy new card/s for 6.2  update)...  Trying to downgrade now until a fix is reported working sadly.
