mr_cb7
I've been running low on space in my Unraid server for awhile now, and now I must get a drive ASAP. My local PC store has Seagate BarraCuda 3TB (ST3000DM008) drives on sale and are $30 cheaper than the WD Blues/Reds I currently have in my server. I've never really bought Seagate before. I've always gone with either WD or HGST as I've heard Seagates are hit or miss. Wondering if what I heard was wrong... Quote Link to comment
interwebtech
Currently have a 2TB, 2x 4TB, 2x 6TB and 3x 8TB Seagates. There have been failures & DOA before but no more or less than other Mfgs I have (WD & HGST & Toshiba) used or have presently. ps. Did not realize I had so many Seagates. In my mind it was full of WD greens when in fact they have all been phased out (1x 6TB left) as that was what I used for the longest time. Nothing smaller than 8TB going in from now on. The naming indicates it is the newer version, but that may just be packaging. Quote Link to comment
