6.2.1 Update Botched How To Move Forward

Featured Replies

Hello,

A couple of weeks ago I decided to update my unRAID server from version 6.1.9 to 6.2.1 a couple of weeks ago.  However, for some reason it doesnt seem to have completed properly.  I'm no longer able to navigate to it on my network via the web ui (times out), dockers aren't working however strangely plugins are. I can still see my data via a couple plugins (torrents mostly) so Im confident its all still there, the important stuff is backed up on other machines, but I'd still like to try and hang onto the rest to save me the trouble of re downloading and re ripping my media for Plex.

The machine has been reset a couple of times so I cant provide a log for the update unfortunately. I'm just wondering if it would be possible to pull the USB drive install a fresh version of unRAID and re add the drives to the new install and keep on chugging along?

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Read the first two posts in this thread: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=51874.0 They will probably help you get things going again without having to reinstall.

But to answer your question, yes, it is possible to reformat the USB device and install a fresh version of unRAID, but copy your licence key to somewhere safe first and be careful when you reassign your disks to make sure that you don't accidentally assign a data disk to the parity slot.
