October 23, 20169 yr my 4 HDD in 3 bay fan died, and I didn't notice it until all 4 HDD temperature are 50-53C (I'm not at home) smart still showing "PASSED", parity check is normal. 4 HDD are WDC green and they usually maxed 39C. Do I need worry ?
October 23, 20169 yr The working temperatures of a WD disk is normally from 0 to 60 C, you may find it on their web site. Since 53C is still in its range, I think it's ok at the moment, but do replace your fans ASAP, or decrease you array activities, excessive access will raise the temperature.
