October 23, 20169 yr Hi I just upgraded to 6.3 rc3 from 6.3 rc2. On the gui I could not reboot or shutdown server as part of rc3 update procedure. I tried both chrome and safari to do this. Then I tried to shutdown using shutdown now in terminal. This closed the gui but server didnt shut down. I had to power it down with power button. After powering up server 6.3 rc3 was installed. So i tried to shutdown again and i got same result. Diags attached prime-diagnostics-20161023-1338.zip
October 23, 20169 yr The shutdown was not initiated according to the log. You have a plugin that is not needed and old ones that are obsolete. - dynamix.system.buttons is no longer needed and should be removed. - dynamix.kvm.manager is from an earlier version of unRAID and should be removed. - dynamix.vm.manager is from an earlier version of unRAID and should be removed. My suggestion is to remove all your plugins and then re-install them one at a time from the CA previous apps. Verify that the plugins are really needed. Check your shutdown process to verify none of the plugins are causing problems.
October 23, 20169 yr You also have some packages in the /flash/extras folder that I suspect are for a previous version of Slackware that should be removed. If you need to put them back, confirm that you have the proper version for the latest Slackware on unRAID.

Just removed plugins from gui and now i can shutdown ok Whats the best way the remove - dynamix.kvm.manager and dynamix.vm.manager just delete them from the flash? But as i have alot of unnecessary packages maybe i will do a clean install of unRAID to flash and add back what i need. I liked the dynamix.system.buttons just liked being able to click shutown or reboot without having to stop array first. Yeah the extras contain netcat-openbsd-1.105-x86_64-2_microlinux so i can connect to quemu with vm manager from a linux box
October 23, 20169 yr just liked being able to click shutown or reboot without having to stop array first. The Power Down and Reboot buttons on the Main tab no longer require the array to be stopped before they become active - you can use them at any time.

The Power Down and Reboot buttons on the Main tab no longer require the array to be stopped before they become active - you can use them at any time. Correct, but only for 6.3.x release (not 6.2.x or earlier). However, if you do click 'Stop' to stop array, and array will not stop due to something preventing disks being unmounted for example, those buttons will then not work to initiate a reboot/shutdown; however, the 'reboot' and 'shutdown' commands from a shell will work. [can you have 2 howevers in the same sentence? ] This will get corrected in 6.4 release.

Tom, I think I found a way to trip up the newer shutdown commands (I'm running 6.2.2 but this should be the same, no?). telnet in (i.e. not a console), issue 'reboot' and then close the session. I did this and it only spun up the disks, and stopped there. I think I may have killed the reboot process by closing the telnet session so quickly.

October 24, 20169 yr Yeah the extras contain netcat-openbsd-1.105-x86_64-2_microlinux so i can connect to quemu with vm manager from a linux box Are you sure that won't work with GNU netcat 1.10? That's available from the Nerd Pack as "nc".
October 24, 20169 yr - dynamix.system.buttons is no longer needed and should be removed. Shouldn't this be removed from the CA? I uninstalled the plugin, but it still shows up in CA. And should one use the Powerdown / Reboot from the "MAIN" tab now to perform clean reboots / shutdowns

No it doesnt seem to work with that says The remote host requires a version of netcat/nc which supports the -U option. edit .....................................i have updated virt manager to a newer version and use tcp connection and works with the netcat 1.10 fine now
October 24, 20169 yr Guys, please take this discussion elsewhere. This is OT to the "solved" issue topic.
