Prompted for credentials

Featured Replies

Over the last week or so, I've been prompted for credentials on an irregular basis when I attempt to save downloaded files to my server. It only seems to happen when I want to save something to the directory that is not the current directory in the 'Save As' dialog box that Firefox pops up - I believe it's always been when I've attempted to cross to a different share, not navigating within the same share.

I do not have any users set up on on the server - all in-house users get full read/write access.

Somewhere 'round these parts, I read instructions to fire up the Windows Credentials Manager (from Win10) and delete credentials to the server. This works just fine, but the problem keeps resurfacing.

Attached are

1) The credentials prompt,

2) The item I'm removing from Windows Credentials Manager to make things work, and

3) diagnostics.zip

I've found that sometimes, cancelling the save, then trying again will make it work without having to go into Cred Mgr.

Does anyone have any thoughts on why this is continuing to happen and if there are any changes I can make to prevent it in the future?

I've encountered the same issue on my laptop (Windows 8.1) and haven't been able to resolve it. I've even cleared all the saved credentials and still nothing. I don't and have never had any users configured in unraid. You can actually enter anything for the credentials and it will continue on.
