Optical Drive passthrough

Featured Replies

I have just moved to unRAID 6 on my main machine... yeah I know I am behind the times.  It was mostly an "if it aint broke don't fix it" kind of situation.

Anyway, I have a windows 7 vm set up and running.  I am trying to get a SATA connect optical drive connected to the Windows VM.  I have tried a couple of things but can't seem to get it to work.  Below are my configs... if I missed some let me know

The above Matshita drive is the one I would like to get passed into the Windows 7 VM.  It is on the HighPoint Technologies, Inc. RocketRAID 230x 4 Port SATA-II Controller listed in the PCI Devices section above.  It is the only thing on that card so I guess I could pass that card through if need be.  Passing through the card is actually what I am trying to do right now but I would prefer to just pass the optical drive itself.

Below is the XML config for the VM.
