November 4, 20169 yr My current microserver has expired. Just wont start for whatever reason. I have a spare SM server and now need to relocate drives including flash. Is this safe to do and can i just populate existing microservr drives to any slot on the spare servet or does it matter which order they are in? Assuming all ok do i need to do anything at all to unRAID if/when it restarts? Thanks people. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
November 4, 20169 yr It should be fine because UnRAID only cares about the GUID on your USB. Just don't use another USB, transfer all the disks (make sure you get them in the correct slots), plug in the old USB to the new server and start the array. If you need to replace the USB, due to corruption or whatever, then you will need to contact Limetech for support.
November 4, 20169 yr If you are on a modern version of unRAID it should be plug and play. From unRAID version 5 forward you can just move the disks and USB stick to the new box and boot it up - it should recognize your disks and be ready to go. If you're still back on version 4 then different story...
November 4, 20169 yr Author I'm on 6.2.2. So i should be able to just plug drives in any slots alongwith the existing flash usb stick, yes? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
November 4, 20169 yr Yes, it's as simple as that. When it's up and running it would be a good idea to run a parity check.
November 4, 20169 yr Yep. If there are issues post back, but it should work. unRAID 5+ identifies drives by serial number rather than slot/port. There are some rare situations where it doesn't work so take a careful look at the console before starting up the array. But in most cases it should work.

Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk From what I read, if you are running dual parity, slots have to be the same. Single parity - any slot. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys.

You are confusing physical slots with disk assignments in the GUI. Physical slots, anywhere is fine. Just don't change logical disk assignment numbers in the GUI.
