Anyway to "seperate" cache pool

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

So my plan is to have 3 cache disks.

1 for appdata/dockers

1 for a VM

1 for a proper cache for transferring files.

Is there anyway to run all 3 independently?

The first 2 are SSD, the third is not

The first 2 are 240GB the third is 1TB

Thanks

As of right now I believe my only option is to run my app/docker in cache, run my VM drive as an unassigned disk, and then simply not have a "proper" cache drive, which stinks but I'm fine with.

you can mount two disks as unassigned and put the appdata on that drive.  I have a similar setup at the moment where I have my VMs+appdata on one unassigned SSD and 2 SSDs in a cache pool for the array

Hmm excellent point, for some reason in my head I had 1 SSD as cache for apps/docker, then second SSD as unassigned, with the 1TB just sitting there with nothing to do.

Not sure why I wasnt thinking both SSD's unassigned.

Would you be able to shed any light on why I cant mount my unassigned disks?

EDIT: If its not clear "Format" is greyed out.

Before "Mount" was there, I would click it, it would spin for a few seconds and do nothing, so I precleared the SSD and now this is where I'm at.

I think you need to enable Destructive Mode in UA settings so you can format the drives
